This workshop explores MidKent College’s strategic approach to developing PSHE/RSE across the learner experience. Attendees will gain insight into the challenges and opportunities unique to FE, including differentiated delivery models, learner-led engagement, and curriculum integration. The session highlights how MKC supports a dedicated PSHE/RSE team, and showcases practical examples such as differentiated curriculums, 1:1 sessions and vocational buy-in. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of FE-specific delivery of PSHE/RSE in the Post 16 setting.

This interactive session explores how AI can be meaningfully woven into your tutorial or PSHE programme. We’ll look at where themes of artificial intelligence connect with existing topics such as healthy relationships, mental health, and bias, and consider how these conversations can support students’ digital and emotional literacy. Participants will engage with practical activities and discussion ideas to help young people think critically and empathetically about AI’s role in their lives.

A workshop focused on examples of best practice and approaches to delivering high quality careers education to learners, ensuring they are prepared with the skills, knowledge and attitudes to progress to their best next step. Showcasing examples from the sector, with supporting resources and developments from the Careers and Enterprise Company and a facilitated discussion to share best practice.

This workshop explores how youth social action can be embedded meaningfully into tutorial programmes. Nottingham College will share their approach to integrating social action into tutorials, highlighting its role in developing student agency, confidence, and community engagement, showcasing the wider benefits for learners and staff. AoC will present insights into the impact of the Youth Social Action programme, showcasing success stories and key outcomes. They’ll also outline future plans and missions to expand youth-led and enrichment initiatives across the sector.

In this workshop we will share ideas for how to support young people to engage in elections through short tutorial activities. We will share example resources and guidance and support on key issues around impartiality and making politics engaging and relevant.

Learn how other colleges approach this important topic and how appropriate use of technology platforms can facilitate effectiveness. We’ll also discuss evolving approaches to employability, share examples of effective practice, and consider how to equip learners with the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

By the end of the session, participants will:
• Understand how to embed personal development themes into tutorial delivery using flexible frameworks.
• Explore strategies to tailor tutorial content to diverse learner groups (16–19, adults, apprentices, HE).
• Gain practical tools to track impact and progression using learner voice, enrichment, and digital portfolios.
• Leave with a mini action plan to enhance tutorial provision in their own setting.
