Workshop
Workshop O:Sets the standard in secure online text messaging
| Author: | Steve Sidaway |
|---|---|
| Institution: | edutxt |
| Date and time: | Tuesday, 20 March 2007, no time available |
| Synopsis: | edutxt® is used by over 170 UK universities & colleges and hundreds of schools. It allows the user to simply manage, send and receive text messages to a mobile phone anywhere in the world. It is possible to send a text to one person or any number of people instantly or scheduled to deliver when it will be most effective. Text messaging is causing the same kind of stir in education that e-mail did 10 years ago when it started to replace paper communication: it revolutionized fast, effective, to-the-point communication. The key difference is that e-mail is still only available to a percentage of the population and when they are at their desks – the mobile phone is with almost the entire population wherever they are day and night.
Workshop demonstration will include the New 'SMS-4-Moodle' and 'RSS-2-SMS' features as well as examples of how this application is being used by the largest messaging community in Europe. Available: Tuesday 11.00 - 12.00 or 12.00 - 13.00 |
