Synopsis

In force from April 2011, the Equality Act 2010 introduces a duty on the public sector to eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation, advance equality and foster good relations between people with different protected characteristics.  In our organisations learners and staff are exercising their right to become increasingly assertive and visible about their sexual orientation and about their religion or belief. This has sometimes led to tensions that can undermine an inclusive and welcoming culture.

This practical workshop will explore how to manage and resolve issues, challenges and apparent contradictions between sexual orientation equality and equality on the grounds of religion and belief.

Please note this workshop is only being offered once and availability will be limited.
