Synopsis

The presentation will examine elements of the structure and function of the Student Counselling Service at Solihull College. 
This will include discussion about:

  • The context of the service within the college.
  • What does the service offer?
  • What happens in appointments?
  • How does counselling link with the roles of other college staff?
  • Student evaluation of the service.
  • What information the counselling service records and how it is used by the college?
  • Resources needed for counselling.
  • Confidentiality and the counsellor.

There will be a brief power-point presentation to highlight some of the above issues and stimulate discussion and questions. Examples of documentation used will be available.
